Pakistan’s over 60 veteran cricket team will be playing for the country in the Over-60 Cricket World Cup in Canada from August 9 to August 23.
The 14-team tournament will feature some of the world’s top cricketers who are over 60 and the tournament will be a celebration of competitive cricket and sportsmanship.
A special ceremony, which took place in Karachi, to celebrate the national team before they left.
In his address, Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA) Chairman and team captain Fawad Ijaz shared the details about the tournament and also expressed their confidence in the preparations of the team.

The players were eager to give the performance of their lives and proud to represent Pakistan on the international platform, he said.
Sindh Minister for Labour and Manpower Saeed Ghani was the chief guest for the ceremony and wished good luck to the team.
He wished that the team would come back with the trophy in hand and had praised the dedication and passion shown by the veterans in the game.
The event was also attended by Quetta Gladiators owner Nadeem Omar and other dignitaries who spoke with the players and assured them of their support for the tournament.
Fawad Ijaz will lead the Pakistan team and Syed Mazhar Hussain will be the vice-captain. The team is a mix of veteran players such as Ather Karim Minhas, Babar Altaf Butt, Aamir Hameed, Syed Zafar Ali, Muhammad Ashraf Pakhali, Muhammad Jaffar Qureshi, Syed Saghir Abbas, Sahibzada Raja Arshad Hayat, Mahfooz Ullah Khan, Syed Munawar Hussain Jafri, Younus Ali and Sajid Ali.
The team’s management includes manager Muhammad Ashraf, assistant manager Zakir Baig and team coordinator Tahir Buksh. Former Test cricketer Ajaz Ahmed Faqih headed the PVCA Selection Committee which selected the squad.
