The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert for the next 12 to 24 hours, according to the reports on Sunday. This is due to expected bad weather in different parts of Pakistan.

In addition to this, hot, mostly sunny, and dry weather is expected in the next 24 hours across most areas of the country.
According to the National Emergencies Operation Centre, strong winds, dust storms and rain with thunder are expected in many areas of the country. People have been advised to take precautionary measures.

The alert said that rain and thunderstorms are expected in Islamabad and several parts of Punjab.
The affected areas include Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Jhelum, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, and Lahore.
In addition to this, in Faisalabad, Khushab, Jhang, Mianwali, Dera Ghazi Khan, Kasur, Okara, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain and strong winds are also expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda, Peshawar, Kohat, Karak, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and Waziristan.
The NDMA has also issued a special alert for Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and mountainous areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the risk of glacial lake outburst floods.
It warned that flash floods, landslides and debris flows could occur. It may also affect roads and nearby communities.
In Balochistan, rain and thunderstorms are expected in Turbat, Kech, Awaran, Khuzdar and Zhob.
Similar weather is also expected in Jacobabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Khairpur, Dadu, Ghotki, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Shaheed Benazirabad and some parts of Karachi in Sindh.
The NDMA has directed the local administrations, rescue agencies and relevant departments to closely monitor sensitive areas and remain prepared for emergencies.
