The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the schedule for the upcoming President’s Trophy Grade One tournament, with eight departmental teams set to compete for the coveted title.
State Bank, WAPDA, KRL, Sui Northern, Ghani Glass, PTV, Sahar Associates, and MIT Solutions will participate in the domestic first-class competition. The tournament is expected to feature some of the country’s top domestic cricketers as teams battle for championship honours.
The tournament will begin on September 24, with matches to be played in Islamabad, Peshawar, Abbottabad, and Rawalpindi. The final is scheduled to take place from November 5 to 9.
The participating departments have welcomed the PCB’s early announcement of the schedule. According to department officials, receiving the schedule two to two-and-a-half months in advance will help them secure budget approvals promptly. Additionally, knowing the host cities well in advance will enable them to plan their preparations and strategies more effectively.
Meanwhile, Departmental representatives appreciated the PCB’s decision to announce the schedule well ahead of the tournament. They highlighted that the early release will allow teams and departments to carry out detailed operational planning and make necessary arrangements before the competition gets underway.
Officials further stated that having the schedule available almost two and a half months in advance will support departments in obtaining budget approvals and managing resources effectively. The confirmation of host cities will also enable participating teams to organise travel, accommodation, and other logistical requirements more efficiently.
The President Trophy Grade One continues to be one of Pakistan’s premier domestic first-class competitions. The tournament will offer players a valuable platform to showcase their talent, improve their performances, and enhance their chances of earning selection at higher levels.
