Peshawar to Rawalpindi train timings, prices amid PTI long march

Travellers heading from Peshawar to Rawalpindi may face difficulties as the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) long march raises concerns about possible road closures.

Reports suggest that authorities have restricted traffic on the M-1 Peshawar Motorway.

Pakistan Railways offers another option for passengers who need to reach Rawalpindi on urgent basis.

Jaffar Express, Awam Express, Rehman Baba Express and Khyber Mail leave Peshawar Cantt Railway Station at different times, giving passengers morning, afternoon and late night travel options.

Peshawar to Rawalpindi train timings

  • Jaffar Express (40DN) leaves Peshawar Cantt at 6:00 AM and reaches Rawalpindi at 9:10 AM. The journey takes three hours and ten minutes
  • Awam Express (14DN) departs at 8:30 AM and arrives at 12:05 PM, taking three hours and 35 minutes
  • Rehman Baba Express (48DN) leaves at 11:00 AM and reaches Rawalpindi at 2:20 PM. Its journey takes around three hours and 20 minutes
  • Khyber Mail (2DN) offers a late night option, departing at 10:00 PM and arriving at 1:35 AM the following day

Peshawar to Rawalpindi train ticket prices

Ticket prices depend on the selected train and accommodation category.

  • Jaffar Express has listed fares of Rs750, Rs1,150, Rs1,250 and Rs2,300
  • Awam Express offers tickets priced at Rs750, Rs1,500 and Rs2,000
  • Rehman Baba Express has similar listed fares of Rs750, Rs1,500 and Rs2,000
  • Khyber Mail tickets are listed at Rs750, Rs1,500, Rs2,000 and Rs2,350
