Petrol price reduced, diesel also becomes cheaper

The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Tuesday changed the petrol and diesel prices, with the new rates taking effect from Wednesday, September 30.

The price of petrol was decreased by Rs1.49, and the price of diesel was decreased by Rs2.73. A notification has been issued in this regard as well.

The price of petrol has been set at Rs387.54 per litre, and the price of diesel has been set at Rs402.24 per litre. These prices have been changed for the next 24 hours.

Previously, OGRA revised the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel.

According to the notification, the price of petrol was cut by Rs2.27 per litre. The price of high-speed diesel was reduced by Rs3.56 per litre. The new prices took effect from September 29, 2026.

Petrol had been fixed at Rs389.30 per litre. Meanwhile, high-speed diesel cost Rs404.97 per litre.

Under the daily pricing system, the government had earlier increased the petrol price by Rs5.44 per litre on July 17. The price of high-speed diesel was also raised by Rs31.50 per litre for the next three days.

Following the increase, petrol reached Rs316.15 per litre while diesel rose to Rs354.35 per litre.

On July 20, the government reduced the petrol price by Rs0.35 per litre to Rs315.80. However, diesel became more expensive by Rs5.71 per litre and reached Rs360.60 per litre.

Before that, petrol was priced at Rs345.87 per litre while high-speed diesel was available at Rs378.50 per litre.

The All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association has issued an important announcement for citizens benefiting from the Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme.

It clarified that subsidised petrol will only be provided to vehicles for which a valid token has been generated through the scheme’s digital system.

According to details, the association has urged beneficiaries to cooperate with petrol station staff and said that only registered vehicles with an active scheme token will be eligible to receive subsidised petrol.
