The All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association has issued an important announcement for citizens benefiting from the Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme, clarifying that subsidised petrol will only be provided to vehicles for which a valid token has been generated through the scheme’s digital system.
According to details, the association has urged beneficiaries to cooperate with petrol station staff and said that only registered vehicles with an active scheme token will be eligible to receive subsidised petrol.
Association leader Nauman Ali Butt said petrol stations are required to follow the government’s instructions and can provide subsidised fuel only to the vehicle displayed in the system against the beneficiary’s token.
He clarified that subsidised petrol cannot be transferred to another vehicle or motorcycle, even if the person claiming the subsidy is registered under the scheme.
Butt urged citizens not to pressure petrol station staff to provide subsidised petrol for an unregistered vehicle or a vehicle other than the one linked to their token. Beneficiaries should claim the subsidy only for the registered vehicle associated with their scheme record.
More than five million people have reportedly registered for the Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme across the country.
Under the scheme, registered citizens are being provided petrol at a discount of up to Rs100 per litre. A digital system has been activated for the programme, with subsidised petrol being provided to eligible beneficiaries across Pakistan.
Authorities are also carrying out real-time monitoring of the distribution of subsidised fuel to ensure that the government relief reaches registered beneficiaries and that the scheme is implemented according to its rules.
