The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has revealed the start of the National Under-17 Championship, which is an important move in the Federation’s efforts to improve and reorganise domestic football in the country.
The championship will unite regional teams from all over Pakistan, competing for national titles at the Under-17 level, according to a press release.
PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani stated, “This championship is the first step in a domestic competition schedule that PFF aims to grow. Every young player in Pakistan should have a clear, competitive path, and we are dedicated to creating one.”
PFF COO Shahid Niaz Khokhar mentioned, “The future of football in Pakistan will depend on the quality of youth competitions. The National Under-17 Championship is where this journey starts.”
The Under-17 Championship is part of PFF’s larger goal to establish a sustainable football structure in Pakistan, providing organised competitive routes for young players from grassroots to the national team.
Additionally, the Championship will act as the main selection platform for the national team ahead of the SAFF Under-17 Championship, which Pakistan will host.
