The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has announced several international development initiatives aimed at providing the country’s emerging hockey talent with valuable exposure and high-level competition on the global stage.
These initiatives form an important part of the federation’s efforts to groom young players and prepare them for future challenges.
Following the approval of the Pakistan U-18 Boys Hockey Team’s participation in the XI A-Side (Five-A-Side) Hockey Tournament in Oman, the PHF has now decided to extend similar opportunities to the Pakistan U-18 Women’s Hockey Team. The women’s team will represent Pakistan in an international Five-A-Side event immediately after the National Hockey Championship.

In addition, the PHF will send the Pakistan U-21 Junior Hockey Team to Oman in July, where they will participate in international tournaments and exposure matches. The initiative is aimed at preparing junior players to compete and represent Pakistan at the highest level.
According to the PHF, June and July are proving to be particularly busy and productive months for Pakistan hockey. During this period, the senior national team, junior team, and U-18 squads will all be engaged in international competitions, significantly enhancing their competitive capabilities and international experience.
A PHF spokesperson stated that participation in these international tournaments and matches will provide young players with an excellent opportunity to test themselves against strong opposition, learn modern playing techniques, improve their tactical understanding, and adapt to international fitness standards.
The federation reaffirmed its commitment to taking all possible measures to accelerate player development and help restore Pakistan’s former stature in world hockey.
