Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has suspended an air hostess after mobile phones and smartwatches were reportedly found in her possession, according to media reports on Monday.
The air hostess had arrived in Karachi from Toronto a few days ago on PIA flight PK-784.
The airline’s vigilance department prepared a report about the incident. The report was sent to the PIA Human Resources department.
Following the incident, PIA has started a formal investigation. The airline administration will look into the matter as part of the inquiry.

PIA regains Heathrow slots
Earlier, PIA regained 14 flight slots at London’s Heathrow Airport. These slots had been given to foreign airlines after restrictions were placed on PIA’s operations in the UK.
The return of the slots is expected to help PIA increase its flights between Pakistan and London. The airline is expected to add more flights under its winter schedule from October.
According to sources, PIA may increase its weekly Islamabad to London flights from three to five.
In 2022, seven of PIA’s landing slots at Heathrow Airport were given to two foreign airlines.
PIA had allowed six slots to Turkish Airlines. One slot was given to Kuwait Airways for six months.
PIA announces new vacancies
Recently, PIA announced new job opportunities for those who want to join PIA as cabin crew.
PIA called for job seekers who had ‘great confidence and a service attitude’ to apply for the recruitment, according to the recruitment announcement of the airline.
Applicants are required to be between 20 and 28 years of age as of the date of application. They should also possess at least a bachelor’s degree from a higher recognised institution.
Previous experience with the airline and in the hospitality/service sectors will be advantageous. Previous authorisation to fly will also be preferred.
Applicants are required to be fluent in spoken and written English, and knowledge of other languages would also be considered.
