PIA flight Fujairah

In the view of the security situation in the Gulf countries the Pakistan International Airlines has suspended its flights to Fujairah for the next 48 hours.

This decision was a precautionary measure according to the spokesperson taken due to extraordinary current circumstances.

Flights to Al Ain however will continue as normal as stated by the PIA. Only on this route will the operations to the United Arab Emirates be carried out.

As of now this is the decision however, the spokesperson further said that the situation is being continuously monitored and future decisions will be made accordingly.

An interesting event took place last night when a PIA flight from Fujairah to Lahore was landed in Karachi due to a technical fault.

The spokesperson stated that a technical issue developed related to the cabin pressure of the flight PK-178. Due to this technical issue the altitude of the aircraft was reduced to 10,000 feet and the plane safely landed at Karachi airport.

The PIA engineers available, worked late at night to fix the fault.

Before this PIA had received a special permission to operate two daily flights to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Earlier according to sources the national carrier was operating one flight to each Abu Dhabi and Dubai every day.

At the same time the PIA flights to Riyadh and Madinah are continuing without disruption.

But the flights to Dammam have been temporarily suspended after a reported missile attack in Bahrain. According to Airline sources the service is expected to resume soon.

It was also added by the officials that the current flights to Saudi Arabia are being operated through Arabian Sea and Yemen Route.
