Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has received special permission to operate two daily flights to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to sources, the national carrier is currently operating one flight each to Dubai and Abu Dhabi every day.
Meanwhile, PIA’s flights to Saudi Arabia, including routes to Riyadh and Madinah, are continuing without disruption.
However, flights to Dammam have been temporarily suspended after a reported missile attack in Bahrain. Airline sources said the service is expected to resume soon.
Officials added that current flights to Saudi Arabia are being operated through the Arabian Sea and Yemen route, while flights to Europe and Canada are being rerouted through Afghanistan’s Wakhan region and Tajikistan due to the evolving regional situation.
Emirates issues latest update on flight operations for stranded passengers
Emirates has announced the latest update for passengers stranded across the country due to the ongoing strikes in the UAE after the Iran-US-Israel escalation.
Emirates stated that all scheduled flights to and from Dubai will remain suspended until 23:59 hours UAE time on 4 March due to ongoing airspace closures across the region.
In its latest advisory, the airline confirmed it operated a limited number of passenger repatriation and freighter flights on 3 and 4 March.
Priority is being given to customers with earlier bookings on these restricted services. Passengers have been strictly advised not to proceed to the airport unless they have received direct notification from the airline or hold a confirmed booking for the specified flights.
The airline stated that it continues to closely monitor the situation and will adjust its operational schedule accordingly. Updated flight information will be published on its official website.
Passengers are urged to check their flight status online, review the latest operational updates, and monitor their email for notifications regarding any changes or cancellations before heading to the airport.
