PM Shehbaz offers condolences to Iranian FM Araghchi over sister’s death

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Syed Abbas Araghchi and expressed his condolences over the death of his sister.

During the conversation, the prime minister conveyed his deepest sympathies to Foreign Minister Araghchi and his family and offered prayers for the departed soul.

Prime Minister Shehbaz prayed that Allah Almighty may grant the deceased eternal peace and give strength and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.

Foreign Minister Araghchi thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz for his kind and thoughtful gesture and for sharing in his grief during this difficult time.

Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif on Friday reiterated Pakistan’s inclination towards peace and commended the efforts of the Chief of Defence Forces and the Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
He made the statement while speaking at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) for the fourth time. He started his address with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated Khalil ur Rehman on his election as President of the UNGA.

‘Pakistan’s role in US-Iran ceasefire’

In his address, the PM said Pakistan brought the United States (US) and Iran to the table in Islamabad and played an important role in facilitating dialogue between the two countries.
Shehbaz Sharif said the Strait of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb are vital for the region.
The PM also highlighted Pakistan’s role in facilitating talks between the US and Iran and its efforts to bring both countries to the negotiating table in Islamabad.
