Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has left for Pakistan from the Zurich airport in Switzerland for a flight back home on Monday. He was there to partake in the US-Iran talks as a mediator.
Members of his delegation will also accompany him. Senior Swiss officials and Pakistan’s Ambassador Marghoob Saleem bid PM Shehbaz farewell.
PM Shehbaz reaches Zurich airport
PM Shehbaz Sharif will return to Pakistan on Monday after taking part in talks between Iran and the United States. The talks were focused on reducing tensions in the Middle East.

The prime minister was expected to leave Bürgenstock, Switzerland, at 11:30 AM local time. This means at 2:30 PM Pakistan Standard Time.
PM Shehbaz arrived in Switzerland on Sunday night with a high level delegation. He participated in diplomatic meetings held alongside the talks between Washington and Tehran.
Officials said the prime minister played a mediatory role during the discussions. The talks focused on finding a long term solution to the conflict and improving stability in the region.
PM Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reached Burgenstock yesterday.
It was to participate in the high level talks on the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
In a post on the spcial media platform X, PM Shehbaz expressed satisfaction regarding the meeting held in Switzerland’s Burgenstock.
“Alhamdulillah, the First High-Level Committee Meeting under the framework of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding has concluded successfully in Bürgenstock, Switzerland,” he said.
The PM further added, “The discussions were held in a positive and constructive atmosphere and yielded encouraging progress, including agreement on a roadmap toward a final deal within 60 days, the establishment of a High-Level Committee to provide political oversight, and the commencement of further technical talks.”

He also paid a special tribute to Field Marshal Asim Munir for his untiring efforts. The PM also paid warm compliments and heartfelt gratitude to Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar for his diplomatic efforts
“Pakistan will continue to play its honest and sincere role in advancing dialogue and diplomacy towards a peaceful and lasting resolution,” he concluded.
