The Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, has reached the Zurich airport in Switzerland for a flight back home to Pakistan after partaking in the US-Iran talks as a mediator.
PM Shehbaz Sharif will return to Pakistan on Monday after taking part in talks between Iran and the United States that were focused on reducing tensions in the Middle East.
The prime minister is expected to leave Bürgenstock, Switzerland, at 11:30 AM local time. This means at 2:30 PM Pakistan Standard Time. Members of his delegation will also accompany him.
PM Shehbaz arrived in Switzerland on Sunday night with a high level delegation. He participated in diplomatic meetings held alongside the talks between Washington and Tehran.
Officials said the prime minister played a mediatory role during the discussions. The talks focused on finding a long term solution to the conflict and improving stability in the region.
PM Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reached to participate in the high level talks on the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding being held in Burgenstock, Switzerland, yesterday.
