Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed a new Gauth AI initiative to help students and teachers in Pakistan use modern technology for education.

Speaking at a ceremony on Monday (today), the prime minister praised an agreement signed between the Ministry of Education and Gauth AI.

He said the initiative would create new learning opportunities and help improve education across the country.

Gauth AI will provide thousands of free subscriptions to support education in Pakistan.

The prime minister said the company was initially offering 4,000 subscriptions, including 1,000 for teachers working at Daanish schools.

ByteDance representative Maria Kohan said the agreement included 4,000 free subscriptions for teachers across Pakistan, along with 180 free subscriptions for local students.

Gauth is an AI-powered learning platform that helps students understand difficult subjects through step-by-step explanations and personalised tutoring.

It also provides interactive study tools designed to make learning easier.

According to Kohan, Gauth already has more than 200 million users worldwide.

She said the company wanted to help Pakistani students improve their learning experience through technology.

Government promises more support for education

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the government would continue providing resources and facilities to Daanish schools.

He praised the schools for offering free education and said students deserved access to quality learning opportunities.

Information Technology Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja said the agreement supported the government’s plan to improve education through digital technology.

She also said Pakistan was becoming the first country after the United States to receive Gauth AI’s paid services.

Kohan said ByteDance was already supporting educational content in Pakistan through TikTok.

She highlighted TikTok’s dedicated science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) feed, introduced with the support of Pakistan’s education and IT ministries.

The feature helps young people discover educational videos and explore new subjects.
