The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast a fresh spell of rain across Punjab from October 28, with strong winds and thunderstorms expected to bring a significant drop in temperatures.
According to the department, a new westerly weather system is likely to affect the province, bringing a change in weather conditions and increasing the intensity of the cold in several areas. Meanwhile, rainfall has already increased the chill in parts of Punjab following a drop in temperatures across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Meteorological Department reported heavy rainfall in Narowal, Shakargarh, Kartarpur, Nurkot and adjoining areas, where the weather has turned colder. In Islamabad, the sky remained overcast with dark clouds on Sunday morning, while light rain was reported in some areas.
The PMD said westerly winds were affecting the country’s upper regions, with further rain and strong winds expected in Islamabad and its surrounding areas. Hailstorms are also possible at isolated locations. The department has forecast scattered rain in upper Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, with a chance of hailstorms in some areas. However, most other parts of the country are expected to experience dry weather.
