'PNS Badr will be provided to Pakistan by end of 2026': Erdogan

Web desk: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that relations between Turkey and Pakistan are not only historically strong but will continue to deepen in the future.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, “Our shared history has stood the test of centuries, and Pak-Turkish friendship will further develop and strengthen in the coming years.”

Speaking on bilateral ties, President Erdogan said that Pakistan and Turkey share a centuries-old common history.

He said that despite facing numerous challenges and trials over time, their relationship has remained resilient and strong.

He expressed confidence that Pak–Turk friendship will further strengthen and evolve in the years ahead.

PNS Badr

The Turkish president also made a significant announcement regarding Pakistan’s naval capabilities, stating that Turkey is enhancing defence cooperation with Pakistan.

He said that PNS Khyber is being provided to the Pakistan Navy and has successfully completed all trial phases.

In addition, PNS Badr is expected to be delivered to Pakistan by the end of 2026. While PNS Tariq will be handed over in the first quarter of 2027.

These developments are being viewed as key steps in strengthening defence cooperation between the two countries.

President Erdogan also addressed regional and global peace, noting that Turkey is among the world’s ten countries capable of manufacturing fighter aircraft.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, “Turkiye is among the 10 countries that produce fighter jets, and we respect the sovereignty and integrity of every country.”

He emphasised that respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all states is a cornerstone of Turkey’s foreign policy.

He reiterated that Turkey does not seek confrontation or escalation with any country. And remains committed to promoting peace, stability, and cooperation with neighbouring states.

Erdogan further said that Pakistan–Turkey relations will continue to expand across defence, trade, culture, and technology.
