Central Secretary of Information for the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Nadeem Afzal Chan, hosted an Iftar dinner to honor the children of Pakistan Sweet Home during the holy month of Ramzan, uniting notable figures from the political, social, and business sectors.

The event highlighted the institution’s significance as a source of hope for orphaned children, with leaders such as former Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf praising Sweet Home as a “miracle” and a paragon of compassion and humanitarian service.

He conveyed that it is a privilege to be linked through this bond with humanity and that it is indeed a great honor to serve the underprivileged segments of society.

“I hope many more Zamurrad Khans will arise in this country to guide orphaned children towards a promising future,” he added further.

During the Iftar dinner, Nadeem Afzal Chan also expressed that being among the children of Sweet Home brings immense joy, as they are excelling in various fields of education at this stage.

He credited the institution’s achievements to divine grace and stated that the educational, healthcare, and other facilities provided for these children are exemplary, urging others to emulate this model.

He earnestly called upon philanthropists and affluent members of society to step forward and generously support the welfare of the underprivileged.

During his address to the children and the audience at this event, Zamurrad Khan, the Head of Pakistan Sweet Home, said that the existence of Sweet Home and the duty of caring for these children is a significant blessing from Allah.

Pakistani charity sends Iftar meals to Gaza daily

In February, Pakistan’s Al-Khidmat Foundation (AKF) enhanced its delivery of daily meals including Iftar, water supplies, and emergency assistance to families in Gaza during the holy month of Ramzan.

Palestinians are observing the fasting month while facing considerable humanitarian difficulties following more than two years of conflict.

Since the beginning of the conflict, AKF has dispatched 40 aid shipments to Gaza, funded by public donations in Pakistan and facilitated with the assistance of the government and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
