PTI Worker Injured in Rawalpindi
Previously, a vehicle in KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s convoy ran over a PTI worker’s foot, seriously injuring him, eyewitnesses said.
The incident happened at the Dahgal checkpoint near Adiala Jail, where the chief minister was present with his security team.
Eyewitnesses said the injured worker, Salar Khan, did not receive immediate medical help, and the chief minister did not stop to check on him.
Salar Khan claimed he was performing his party duties when the convoy suddenly sped up, and a vehicle ran over his foot.
People nearby helped him and took him to a local hospital. The Chief Minister’s Office has not issued any statement so far.
Earlier, Sohail Afridi had arrived at Adiala Jail to meet PTI founder Imran Khan. He waited in a private office near the jail, but had not been allowed to meet him by the time this report was filed.
Police were deployed in large numbers in the area, and roads around the Dahgal checkpoint were partially blocked.
This was Sohail Afridi’s first visit to Rawalpindi and the Adiala Jail area as the chief minister.
