PTI Protest Turns a Flop Show

PTI Protest Islamabad

Islamabad: While the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership and workers were marching on the capital on Tuesday on the call of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi from the various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the march seemed like a flop show as a poor flow of people was seen on the ground.

Speaking to Pakistan Connect, Mr. Arshid said that only a few PTI leaders were seen who attended the march; there was complete peace on the roads. He further said that not more than 15 people were part of the rally that started from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Another resident of Peshawar said that the people didn’t pay attention to the protest call of PTI leadership as the leadership and supporters appear divided over Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s call to gather a one point. He also said that people are now fully aware, and they did not give attention to the politics of agitation and violence, as the PTI has been involved in attacking national institutions, including security. The PTI leaders had been involved in the May 9 riots, and the punishment through a court trial was given to them.

The residents of the twin cities, Islamabad and Rawalpindi seemed unhappy as the roads were blocked due to a protest call by Pakistan Tehrik-e-Pakistan. All roads leading to Adiala jail have been blocked, and security has been placed on high alert in Rawalpindi. A resident of Rawalpindi Mr. Aslam, has said that the protests caused them great difficulties as they have lost civil liberties because of the everyday protests. He said that due to security concern all the roads leading to Adiala Jail are closed and he did not send his kids to the school and the road closures have created problems for them.
