Those who want to go out and are looking forward to major city celebrations can visit these public places in Pakistan on August 14.

Islamabad

The citizens of the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, can visit Marka-e-Haq Monument, near H-8 Expressway, at midnight (12:00am) on August 14 to witness fireworks and a flypast by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

Then comes the Puppet Show portraying the story of Pakistan, hosted by the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) in the PNCA Auditorium, F-5/1, at 10:30am.

Moreover, families can visit the parade to be conducted in Parade Ground at 05:00pm, an event organised by the Capital Development Authority (CDA).

For those who want free entry to a national event, Milli Naghmon Ki Shaam-Jashn-e-Azadi will be hosted at Lok Virsa Open Air Theatre between 06:00pm to 08:00pm. The public can enjoy national songs and patriotic performances here.

There will also be a concert night in F-9 Park, Islamabad, the timings of which are yet to be announced.

Lahore

The people of Lahore can enjoy a major celebration at Minar-e-Pakistan with fireworks and laser show to be conducted at 11:59pm on August 13.

The Zinda Dilan-e-Lahore can also visit Wagah Border for the Grand Parade at the 79th Independence Day of Pakistan.

According to the information available on social media, the parade will be conducted at 05:00pm, while it is advised that the public should confirm the timing first and then move towards their destination.

The Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, will be hosting a Flag-Hoisting Ceremony at Hazuri Bagh on Independence Day.

There will also be a 3D light and sound show at the Alamgiri gate of Lahore Fort on August 14 starting at 08:30pm onwards.
