Maryam Nawaz inaugurates Punjab Pavilion in Baku

The Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, inaugurated the Punjab Pavilion at the World Urban Forum in Baku, according to the reports today.

There, Punjab’s development and urban projects are being presented to the international community.

Speaking at the event, CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz said that the Punjab Pavilion has become a centre of attention at the global forum, and delegations from different countries are showing special interest in it.

The CM visited different sections of the pavilion. She also appreciated the work of the staff. She was also briefed on various development projects and public welfare programmes launched by the Punjab government.

Maryam Nawaz reviewed modern artificial intelligence based tools displayed at the pavilion. Additionally, she also interacted with representatives at different stalls. Federal Climate Change Minister Musadik Malik was also present with her during the visit.

A documentary film on the Punjab government’s flagship housing project “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” was also shown at the pavilion. The film highlighted houses built under the scheme and families benefiting from the project.

According to officials, more than 100,000 houses have been completed under the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” programme within just one year. International delegates described the project as a major social achievement.

Foreign guests and international media representatives at the forum praised the Punjab government’s public welfare projects, urban development vision, and the leadership of Maryam Nawaz Sharif. They called it a positive and effective model.

Maryam Nawaz to represent Punjab at World Urban Forum

Previously, it was reported that the CM of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, will represent the province during a three-day visit to the World Urban Forum in Baku.

According to her post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Maryam Nawaz said, “It will be a singular honour to present Punjab’s flagship sustainable urban affordable housing initiative, ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar,’ at the Pakistan Pavilion at the World Urban Forum in Baku.”
