Sylhet Test: Rizwan keeps Pakistan hopes alive

The Pakistan national cricket team need 121 more runs to win the Sylhet Test against the Bangladesh national cricket team after the fourth day’s play, according to the latest details.

At the end of day four, Pakistan were 316 for 7 in their second innings while chasing a target of 437 runs. Bangladesh need only three more wickets to secure victory.

Pakistani cricketers Mohammad Rizwan remained unbeaten on 75 runs while Sajid Khan was batting on 8. Both players showed responsible batting in the final session and kept Pakistan’s hopes alive.

Pakistan did not have a good start in the run chase. The first wicket fell at 27 runs when Abdullah Fazal was dismissed for 6 by Nahid Rana. Azan Awais also returned to the pavilion after scoring 21 runs.

After the early wickets, captain Shan Masood and Babar Azam built an important partnership for the team.

Babar Azam scored 47 runs before getting out to Taijul Islam, while Shan Masood played a strong innings of 71 runs.

Earlier in the match, Bangladesh scored 278 runs in the first innings while Pakistan were all out for 232. This gave the hosts a lead of 46 runs.

Bangladesh then scored 390 runs in their second innings. It set Pakistan a difficult target of 437 runs to win the Test match.

Sarfaraz supports Rizwan

National Test team head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed has confirmed that star batter Babar Azam is available for selection in the second Test against Bangladesh.

Speaking to the media in Sehlat, he said that Mohammad Rizwan and other experienced players have also made mistakes. But he also expressed confidence that they will improve in future matches.

He said that the decision to bowl after winning the toss in the first Test was the right one. It should be noted that when Babar was injured before the Dhaka Test, Azan Owais and Abdullah Fazal were allowed to make their debut, and both performed brilliantly.
