The Punjab government has reduced traffic fines for owners of motorcycles, cars, and commercial vehicles, while also introducing new rates.
Additionally, the One App has been updated to improve the efficiency of the challan system.
According to official sources, commercial vehicles will now receive regular challan tickets for traffic violations.
Under the revised regulations, a fine of Rs 1,000 has been established for motorcyclists who use mobile phones, violate lane markings, disrupt traffic flow, or use pressure horns.
A fine of Rs 2,000 remains in place for offenses such as riding without a helmet, one-way violations, and driving without a license.
Moreover, car drivers will face a fine of Rs 2,000 for lane violations and Rs 3,000 for ignoring traffic signals, while commercial vehicles will face a fine of Rs 5,000 for operating without a license and for signal violations.
Additionally, motorcycles and rickshaws that emit smoke will be fined Rs 2,000, cars will incur a Rs 3,000 fine, and commercial vehicles will face a Rs 5,000 penalty.
Lahore Traffic Police Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi states that the aim of the challan system is to enhance the welfare of citizens and ensure safe travel, urging citizens to follow to traffic regulations.
Rawalpindi resolves over 500 traffic complaints
Earlier, the City Traffic Police (CTP) of Rawalpindi was seen being actively involved in serving the public by addressing the majority of traffic-related complaints from citizens in a timely manner.
As reported by a spokesperson for the CTP, the traffic police received a total of 583 complaints through various channels in the previous month, with 538 of these being resolved quickly, while investigations into 45 complaints are still ongoing.
