Good news! Qatar announces major visa relief

The Ministry of Interior of Qatar announced that all entry visas that have expired or are about to expire will be automatically extended for one month, starting February 28, 2026.

Additionally, further extensions might also follow depending on developments.

Major relief for expired, soon to expire visas

The Ministry said the extension will be processed through electronic systems that are approved. Also no fees are required. And the applicants also do not need to visit offices or submit new applications.

For visas with violations before February 28, individuals must first pay the fine for overstaying. After that, the extension and fee exemption will apply from the same date.

The Ministry said it will continue to monitor the situation to ensure legal stability for residents and visitors.

It also advised people to stay indoors, limit movement to emergencies, avoid windows and exposed areas, and follow official instructions. Updates will be shared on the Ministry’s official channels.
