WEB DESK: Rabi Pirzada, former Pakistani singer has opened up on her secret divorce for the first time in public in a tell-all interview.
During her appearance on Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast, Rabi revealed that she was married, but later she filed for divorce and kept it secret.
Rabi Pirzada said that “I was married, but I got a Khula (divorce). People don’t know about my marriage because I am sharing it for the very first time. I haven’t spoken publicly about my divorce before.”
She avoided speaking negatively about her ex-husband, saying that “I won’t talk negatively about anyone, but one day, I decided to take Khula after what happened in that relationship. It was the end of my miseries and maybe his as well. Maybe I will remarry in the future.”
“I regret marrying under the pressure of my parents. It was a watta satta (exchange) marriage, which made things complicated,” Rabi added.
It is pertinent to mention here that Rabi Pirzada bid farewell to singing after her private photos were leaked in 2019. Now she preachs Islam and is focused on her calligraphy work.
Actress Mehar Bano confirms her divorce
In a separate development, Pakistani actress Mehar Bano confirmed her divorce from music producer Shahrukh Kazim Ali.
During a Q&A session on Instagram, she was asked whether she was married, to which she replied, “No”.
Mehar Bano got married in 2022. Fans had earlier speculated about a separation after the actress unfollowed her former husband and deleted all photos with him from her social media.
Mehar Bano has acted in the popular drama Meray Paas Tum Ho as Anushey. She was also seen in the drama Balaa alongside Ushna Shah and Bilal Abbas Khan, as well as in Qatil Haseenaon Ke Naam and Churails. She was also seen in Khuda Aur Muhabbat as Rida.
Aside from acting, she is also a dancer. She also has a huge following of 266K people on Instagram and often posts her dance videos.
