The weather changed drastically when Islamabad experienced heavy rain in the early hours of Thursday, providing relief to residents after a period of heatwave across the federal capital.
The afternoon will be mainly cloudy and warm, but it will clear up by evening.
There may be light rain showers at times from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The weather is expected to remain cloudy in the afternoon with temperatures dropping further by evening to between 23°C and 24°C in Islamabad.
The humidity is high at 52%, with a light breeze from the east at 4 mph.
According to the latest weather report, light rain showers are likely in the morning and early afternoon, providing a slight cooling effect before the skies clear in the evening.
PMD predicts heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across the country
Earlier, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast more heavy rainfall and hailstorms in various parts of the country over the coming days.
According to the Met Office, several areas of Punjab are likely to receive heavy rain and hailstorms.
Rain is also expected in Islamabad, as well as in Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Faisalabad, Okara, Kasur, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur.
In view of heavy rain, the weather department has advised residents in affected areas to stay updated on weather conditions and take necessary precautions during periods of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and possible hailstorms.
