Famous YouTuber Rajab Butt’s name has been removed from the Passport Control List (PCL). The Islamabad High Court was informed of the development during the hearing of a contempt of court petition filed by Rajab Butt.
The hearing was presided over by Justice Muhammad Azam Khan. The Islamabad High Court had previously ordered the removal of Rajab Butt’s name from the PCL in April. However, the order was not implemented, prompting the YouTuber to file a contempt petition.
It is worth mentioning here that YouTuber Rajab Butt, a few days earlier, apologised following criticism over his controversial remarks about child abuse. Butt said his comments were intended as a joke and expressed regret to anyone who may have been hurt or offended by what he said.
His remarks triggered a strong reaction on social media, with users criticising the comments and calling on him to clarify his position. Addressing the controversy, Butt apologised and said he did not intend to hurt anyone through his remarks. The controversy has since drawn wider attention to the sensitivity of discussions around child abuse and the responsibility of public figures when making comments on serious issues.
