A Pakistani man who says he was unknowingly drawn into facilitating social media engagement for individuals linked to RAW has come forward after being contacted by authorities.
He claimed he handed over evidence, including payment records, chat messages, and other documents that he says demonstrate his interactions with RAW-linked operatives.
In an interview with Waseem Badami, he said that millions of rupees were spent to promote false and misleading content targeting the Pakistan army.
He said that the website received an order in March this year requesting various online services. He claimed the purpose of the order was to promote fabricated videos and false content about the situation in Kashmir on social media, for which millions of rupees were allegedly paid.
In the interview, the facilitator of RAW further claimed that after several days of promoting anti-Pakistan content, Pakistan’s security agencies contacted him and gathered information during an investigation.
He explained that whenever an order is received, its details are reviewed first. If a client provides designs or content, they are uploaded into the system rather than used directly. Services such as views, likes, comments, reactions and other forms of social media engagement are then delivered according to the customer’s order.
Discussing the payment process, he said that the third-party payment gateway Stripe is used to receive client payments, which are later transferred to a linked bank account. He added that Stripe facilitates virtual banking and international payments across multiple countries, allowing funds to be received from overseas.
