The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi has announced the results of the Intermediate First Annual Examination 2026, with female students recording a higher pass rate than male students.
A total of 61,409 candidates appeared in the examination. 36,896 students passed, while 24,513 were unsuccessful. The overall pass percentage stood at 60.08 per cent.
Female students achieved a pass rate of 67.56 per cent. In comparison, the pass percentage among male students was 46.53 per cent.
The board said 62,233 candidates had originally registered for the examination. However, 799 candidates remained absent. Cases were also registered against 29 candidates.
Rawalpindi Board position holders
- Atfa Javed of Punjab College for Women, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi, secured the overall first position. She obtained 1,156 marks out of 1,200
- Noor Fatima Sajid from the same college secured the second position with 1,151 marks
- Nabiha Iman of Punjab College for Women, Talagang, and Muneeb Shah of Punjab College, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi, jointly secured third position. Both students obtained 1,142 marks
The board also announced position holders for different groups. These included Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, General Science, Commerce and Humanities.
Students to receive awards
BISE Rawalpindi Chairman Prof Dr Iqbal Mehmood congratulated the successful students. He also praised their parents and teachers for supporting them.
An award ceremony for the position holders is being held at the Rawalpindi Board premises on Wednesday, September 23 (today). High-achieving students will receive medals and prizes during the ceremony.
According to the board’s result figures, 2,671 candidates received an A+ grade. Another 5,577 students secured an A grade, while 10,176 received a B grade.
A further 12,288 candidates received a C grade. Meanwhile, 5,815 students secured a D grade and 365 received an E grade.
The board chairman also said that BISE Rawalpindi has been fully digitised. He added that measures have been taken to eliminate unfair means and make the examination process more transparent.
