Police in Rawalpindi have uncovered a major network involved in producing and live-streaming obscene videos online, arresting several local and foreign suspects during a raid in the city’s Rawat area.
According to police, four men and seven women were taken into custody during the operation. Among those arrested was a Nigerian national.
Investigators said the suspects were not only recording explicit videos but were also broadcasting them live through mobile phone cameras.
Sources revealed that one foreign suspect attempted to flee the scene during the raid but was apprehended by police. A 9mm pistol and ammunition were also recovered from his possession.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the group was uploading obscene content to various websites and operating an organised online streaming network. Following the arrests, Rawat Police registered a case against the suspects and launched further investigations.
Authorities have also contacted the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to expand the scope of the inquiry and determine whether the network has links to wider cybercrime activities.
