The Rawalpindi Traffic Police on Monday announced the latest traffic plan for commuters as some of the routes will remain closed due to the first practice match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The match will be played tomorrow, October 6, at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

When the teams travel, vehicles coming from Islamabad will be diverted from Faizabad towards the Expressway.
Traffic going from Rawalpindi to Islamabad will be diverted to alternative routes from three different points.
More than 315 traffic police officers and personnel will be on duty to keep traffic moving on the alternative routes. Three parking areas have also been set up for cricket fans.
Extra officers have also been deployed on alternative routes. A special traffic plan has been made to keep traffic moving.

Citizens will receive regular updates about the latest traffic situation through the traffic police’s official social media pages and FM radio.
CTO Farhan Aslam said the police are working to keep traffic moving in the city. However, he said smooth traffic during the matches also depends on the cooperation of citizens.
Special traffic arrangements have been made to help citizens and keep traffic moving smoothly.
When will the first match be played?
The first practice match of the series will be played tomorrow, October 6, at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
City Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam said traffic will be moved to alternative routes for a short time when the teams travel to and from the stadium.
ITP issues traffic plan
Previously, Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) issued a special traffic plan for the Yadgar-e-Fatah ceremony in the capital on Saturday, October 3.
Several roads will be closed during the event. Traffic will be moved to other routes to keep the roads clear.
Which roads will remain closed?
The service road from Al-Shifa Hospital to the Federal Board will remain closed.
Faiz Ahmed Faiz Road will also be closed. The closure will cover the section from Beaconhouse to Jaffar Khan Jamali Road.
