Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi arrives in Quetta and holds a high-level meeting after the blast.

The meeting was attended by senior officials of the Balochistan Police, including the Inspector General of Balochistan Police, as well as other senior law enforcement officers.

Mohsin Naqvi said that the federal government stands fully with the Balochistan government in this difficult and tragic time.

He said that terrorists have shown extreme brutality by targeting innocent civilians, but the great sacrifices of the martyrs will always be remembered, and their blood will not go in vain.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, while addressing the meeting, thanked the Federal Interior Minister for standing with Balochistan in every difficult time.

He said that the provincial government owes a debt to the martyrs and that the perpetrators of this incident will be brought to their logical end.

Earlier, at least 14 people were killed, and 20 others were injured after a blast caused by a vehicle-borne suicide bombing tore through a shuttle train in Quetta.

According to reports, the shuttle train was heading from Quetta Cantonment to the railway station when it was targeted near Chaman Phatak shortly after 8am on Sunday.

The blast was loud enough to be heard in various distant areas of the city and caused damage to nearby buildings

A medical emergency has been declared in Quetta’s hospitals, with all doctors, paramedical staff, and medical personnel summoned to duty.
