Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for February 2026 following a standout campaign at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
Farhan finished as the tournament’s leading run-scorer, making 383 runs in seven matches at an average of 76.60.
His tally included two centuries and two half-centuries.
He scored at a strike rate of 160.25 throughout the competition.
During the event, he also broke a long-standing record held by Virat Kohli for the most runs in a single edition of a T20 World Cup.
Big achievement by Pakistani opener
Farhan became the first batter to score two centuries in a single global T20 tournament, reaching three figures against Namibia and Sri Lanka.
He also shared a 176-run partnership with Fakhar Zaman, the highest stand for any wicket in T20 internationals.
Despite a five-run win over Sri Lanka in one of their matches, Pakistan did not progress to the semi-finals due to a lower net run rate.
Player reaction
Speaking after receiving the award, Farhan said the recognition was special because of the global stage.
“It’s an incredible feeling to win this ICC award, especially for performances on the World Cup stage, where fans from all over the world are watching every moment,” he said.
He added that he hoped to carry his form into the upcoming series and thanked his teammates for their support.
Rankings and recognition
This is the first time Farhan has won the monthly ICC award.
He is the first Pakistani men’s player to receive the honour since Haris Rauf in November 2024.
The 29-year-old has also moved to a career-high second place in the ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings following his performances.
Farhan was named in the ICC Team of the Tournament, with scores of 47, 73, 0, 100, 63 and an unbeaten 100 across his appearances.
