Sahibzada Farhan’s achievement is a continuation of his consistently outstanding performances. He scored 383 runs in the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, earning the distinction of being the tournament’s highest run-scorer. His strike rate was 160.25.
He also broke Virat Kohli’s record of 319 runs, set in 2014, for the most runs scored in a single edition of the tournament. In addition, he became the first batter to score two centuries in a single edition of the Men’s T20 World Cup. He achieved this feat against Namibia and Sri Lanka.
Sahibzada Farhan also stood out in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, scoring 449 runs in 12 innings to become the tournament’s top run-scorer.
The Pakistan Cricket Board recently appointed him captain of the national T20 team in place of Salman Ali Agha. After taking charge, he played a brilliant innings of 89 runs off 53 balls in the first T20 match against Sri Lanka on October 9. His innings included 10 fours and four sixes.
Pakistan chased down the target of 183 runs with seven balls to spare, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Sahibzada Farhan was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.
Sahibzada Farhan had previously also captained the Pakistani team at the 2026 Asian Games held in Japan, where Pakistan won the silver medal.
