Sajal Aly responds to PTI trolls

Famous Pakistani actress Sajal Aly has responded to the ongoing trolling by the supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) across various social media platforms.

In her Instagram story, she said, “Any response to a national tragedy is human, not political. Acknowledging an act meant to protect lives does not mean allegiance or endorsement. Appreciating one action does not cancel criticism of political parties elsewhere. That said, differences of opinion are healthy in any society. Abuse and attempts to silence fellow citizens are not. Choose thought over outrage. Empathy over hostility. May we move forward as a nation with empathy and grace. Godspeed.”

Sajal earlier posted a story on Instagram in which she praised the Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, by applying a heart emoji at the speech of the CM, in which she was talking about measures for preventing incidents like Karachi’s Gul Plaza.

Celebrities and fans backing Sajal Aly

While defending the actress, the Pakistani showbiz star Khaqan Shahnawaz said that, “two actresses, Sajal Aly and Saba Qamar, recently shared a reel of the Punjab CM where she was explaining the measures the Punjab government is taking to prevent incidents like the fire in Karachi’s plaza.”

“They shared it and added a heart emoji, and now they’re being trolled. People may like the policies of the government, if you do not like that government, it does not mean that you dehumanise those who speak in favour of that government,” he said.

He further said that we should learn from India’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) cyber cells, and we should respect each other’s opinions.

Moreover, one fan in his post on X said that, “PTI is now targeting Sajal Aly too, btw, simply for putting a heart emoji on a post.
PTI is specifically attacking female artists for simply praising CM Maryam’s performance. They are directly targeting their livelihoods and their safety as women.”

While another fan also posted at the X speaking in favour of Saba Qamar, as she is also facing trolling on the social media platforms by the PTI netizens.

Another fan of the actress called the trolling ‘fascism’ by adding that an organised PTI-aligned troll network is now mocking Sajal Aly’s divorce and asking to boycott her just because she acknowledged the work of CM Punjab.

Trolling by the PTI followers

A PTI supporter mentioned Sajal Aly’s story by saying that she shared a video of CM Punjab, while all the other stories were regarding the Gul Plaza incident. Let us boycott her.
