Samsung is expected to unveil two book-style folding smartphones this year , the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.
The Fold 8 was earlier known as Fold 8 Wide, while the Fold 8 Ultra was referred to as the Fold 8. This renaming took place last month, leading to some confusion.
Although Samsung has not officially commented on this change, we now have confirmation that the Fold 8 Ultra name is legitimate.
This confirmation comes from the Bluetooth SIG, which has added the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra to its database after certifying the foldable device.
Rumors suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will feature a 5,000 mAh battery, support 45W wired charging, and weigh 215 g.
When unfolded, the smartphone will measure 4.1mm, making it 0.1mm thinner than its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
In contrast, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 will come equipped with a 4,800 mAh battery but will have the same charging speed as the Ultra version. It will weigh 201 g and include a new 50MP camera with native support for 24MP mode.
Samsung is expected to launch these smartphones on July 22 at an event in London, alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 8.
