The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Interior has issued an important warning for Saudi citizens and foreign residents.
The ministry said that filming scenes of Saudi defence systems intercepting missiles or drones in the air is illegal. Sharing such videos on social media is also considered a serious offence.
The ministry said national security cannot be compromised. It added that filming or taking pictures of military or defence operations and sharing them on any digital platform could put national security at risk.
The ministry spokesperson said strict legal action would be taken against anyone who breaks the law. The action will apply to both Saudi citizens and foreign residents.
What happened at the emergency defence meeting?
Before this, an emergency meeting of the strategic, political and defence committee of the Makkah Defence Alliance between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye was held in Riyadh.
The meeting reviewed the security situation facing Saudi Arabia and the threats to the country.
In a joint statement, the three countries strongly condemned attempts to target Makkah and Madinah. They also condemned the ongoing attacks on Saudi cities, citizens and economic facilities.
The statement clearly rejected any attack or threat against Saudi Arabia’s security and territorial integrity.
The committee decided to immediately start practical steps under its collective defence commitments. It also approved the required measures to provide the agreed military forces and defence capabilities.
The statement said these military forces and capabilities would be deployed in Saudi Arabia quickly. The deployment would follow the agreed arrangements and the national laws of all three countries.
The measures aim to strengthen the three countries’ defence readiness and military coordination. They also aim to improve their joint ability to deal with threats.
The joint statement also confirmed that the security of each member country is an essential part of the collective security of all three countries.
