Saudi Arabia: 06 Pakistanis arrested for smuggling 71 kg of drugs

RIYADH: The Saudi Arabia General Directorate of Narcotics Control, in cooperation with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, carried out a major operation on Monday.

71 kilograms of drugs were seized from six Pakistanis in Riyadh.

Security spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry of Interior, Talal Al-Shalhoub, said that the suspects were caught red-handed while they were receiving a large shipment of methamphetamine.

He told the media that drug smuggling is unacceptable and added that the arrested individuals belong to Pakistan.

They have been presented in court, and an investigation has already been initiated.

It should be kept in mind that strict laws are being followed against drug crimes in Saudi Arabia. Even the culprits are being beheaded if found guilty.

Talal Al-Shalhoub talked about another operation in which two major drug smuggling attempts were conducted with Omani authorities.

While conducting the operation against the drug mafia, more than 200 kilograms of drugs were seized.

He appealed to the public to immediately report any suspicious activity related to drug trafficking or distribution on 911, 999 and 885. The name of the informant will be kept confidential.
