Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud has arrived in Pakistan today, as the big regional talks are scheduled in Islamabad today to end the conflict in Gulf countries.
A two-day meeting of foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Egypt, and Pakistan is underway in Islamabad, where leaders are discussing key issues, including ways to ease rising tensions in the region during the ongoing US-Israel war with Iran.
Pakistan is also playing an active role as a key facilitator, helping pass messages between Iran and the United States as the conflict continues.
The meeting is taking place as countries push to open a path for diplomacy to end the more than month-long war between the US, Israel, and Iran, which started on February 28 and has impacted the wider Middle East.
In this context, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty arrived in Islamabad a day earlier on official visits.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud has also reached Islamabad.
Two days earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed that Pakistan is relaying messages between the United States and Iran, with Türkiye and Egypt also supporting the effort.
He added that these efforts included direct contact between Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir and US President Donald Trump on Sunday, which the White House confirmed.
