Schools get additional holidays in Islamabad

The federal government has declared a six-day spring break along with Eid holidays, for schools in Islamabad.

According to the official notification, these institutions will be closed on March 24, March 25, and March 26 and they will be re-opened on March 30.

The spring holidays have been scheduled to coincide with the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr holidays. It is noteworthy that federal educational institutions observe spring vacations every year.

School holidays extended

In Skardu, all schools will remain closed for the next two days. The administration said the move has been taken due to security threats in the area.

The administration has also ordered all government schools in areas along the Pakistan Afghanistan border to remain closed indefinitely.

The reopening of schools will be decided after assessing the situation. Schools in the border villages of North Waziristan have also been closed to protect students and staff from any potential incidents.

Kashmir division: all schools closed

Previously, authorities announced that all government and private schools in the Kashmir Division will remain closed until March 7, 2026.

The decision comes in view of recent protests in Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Relevant authorities have also issued a formal instruction in this regard.

Officials have said that the step has been taken to make sure of the safety and convenience of students under the current situation.

They added that the situation is being closely monitored. A new schedule will be announced if conditions improve.
