Schools to remain closed on April 9,10

All schools and colleges under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) will remain closed on April 9 and 10, 2026, following instructions from the Office of the District Magistrate, Islamabad Capital Territory.

In compliance with instructions from the Office of the District Magistrate, Islamabad Capital Territory, all the admission tests previously scheduled between April 9 and 13 have been rescheduled to April 13-14, 2026. Heads of institutions have been directed to ensure that this information reaches all concerned, including staff, students, and parents.

It is worth mentioning that Local holidays have been declared in the federal capital on April 9 and 10, 2026. The notification was issued by the District Administration of Islamabad, and the holidays will be observed within the limits of the federal capital. According to the notification, offices providing essential services are exempted from the holiday.

Islamabad talks

On Friday, April 10, Pakistan is set to hold the Islamabad peace talks between the US and Iran after Pakistan successfully brokered a ceasefire between the two.

A large number of representatives and journalists from international news media want to come to Pakistan to cover the peace talks. Therefore, Pakistan is seeing a surge in demand for Pakistani visas, reports say.

In view of the upcoming talks, security in Islamabad has been tightened as well. A two-day local holiday has been declared in the federal capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, on Thursday, April 9 and 10, 2026, as notified by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Irfan Nawaz Memon.
