ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met President Asif Ali Zardari at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday and briefed him on the security situation of the country.
During the meeting, the Field Marshal gave a detailed briefing to the President on the overall internal and external security situation of the country.
According to sources, the Field Marshal also apprised President Zardari of the security situation arising due to the recent aggressive and provocative actions of the Afghan Taliban government.
He also highlighted the effective and vigorous response of the Pakistani Armed Forces in response to the attacks by the Afghan Taliban.
President Asif Ali Zardari expressed full confidence in the strength, bravery, capability and readiness of the Pakistani Armed Forces.
The President appreciated the professionalism of the Pakistani Armed Forces for giving a timely and effective response to the cross-border attacks.
He said that Pakistan will defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs.
