Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Saturday chaired a meeting with religious scholars from different schools of thought and senior officials to review preparations for 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal.
The chief minister directed authorities to ensure foolproof security and uninterrupted civic services across the province during religious processions and gatherings.
The meeting reviewed security, sanitation, traffic management and arrangements for processions and Milad gatherings. Murad directed the police, Rangers and district administrations to work together on a coordinated security plan and complete all preparations before the occasion.
He said protecting participants remained the government’s top priority and ordered authorities to closely monitor security along procession routes and at religious gathering points.
Murad also directed relevant departments to ensure uninterrupted electricity, gas and water supplies at mosques, Imambargahs, procession routes and Milad venues. He instructed K-Electric, Sui Southern Gas Company, Water Corporation and other departments to remain on high alert.
The chief minister ordered a special cleanliness drive before and during 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal. He directed authorities to keep procession routes, nearby areas and public places clean.
He also ordered officials to resolve drainage and sewerage problems, repair damaged roads and clear blocked drains before the religious occasion.
The Sindh inspector general of police briefed the meeting on security and traffic arrangements. Murad directed divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, police officers and local government institutions to improve coordination and monitor preparations continuously.
Religious scholars also shared suggestions on security, sanitation, traffic and civic facilities. Murad directed the relevant departments to address their concerns on a priority basis.
