Sindh govt to distribute 1,000 more free pink EV scooters to women

The Sindh government has announced the distribution of free pink scooters for women in Hyderabad on May 28, according to the latest reports today.

The Information Minister of Sindh, Sharjeel Inam Memon, said that the Pink EV Scooter Scheme has become an important project for women’s empowerment.

He said that 1,000 scooters were distributed within a year. Adding that this has brought a positive change in society. Women in Hyderabad will now also receive scooters under the scheme.

Sharjeel Memon said the government had recently opened Shahrah e Bhutto for public traffic. Further adding that now another piece of good news has been announced for women through the free scooter scheme.

Responding to a question, he said the federal government has not yet contacted them regarding the 28th Constitutional Amendment. He added that the party will make a decision according to its stance once the draft is shared.

Sindh free pink EV scooters for women

Before this, the Sindh government had announced free pink scooters for women in Hyderabad as part of its women empowerment initiative.

The provincial government had decided to buy 1,000 more pink electric scooters to further improve safe travel facilities for women.

According to the details, an important meeting of the Transport Department was held under the chairmanship of the Senior Minister for Transport and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon. During that  meeting, several key decisions were approved to modernise transport services across Sindh.

It was decided that they would get an additional 1,000 pink electric scooters to empower women. And to provide them with safer transportation opportunities.

Sharjeel Memon also directed the relevant authorities to immediately remove hurdles in the registration process for the pink scooters.

To improve the province’s public transport system, the meeting approved the launch of an intercity People’s Bus Service. The service will soon begin operations in districts including Larkana, Hyderabad, Dadu, and Sehwan.

New bus routes from Khairpur to Rohri and from Khairpur to Ranipur are expected to become operational next week.

The meeting was also informed that a new fleet of buses for Karachi will arrive within the next few months.
