Sindh approves uniform examination syllabus for all educational boards

Web desk: Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah has announced the implementation of a uniform examination syllabus (UES) for all education boards across the province for the first time in Sindh on Friday. This marks the first time that classes 9 and 10 will be assessed under a common framework.

According to a notification issued by the School Education Department, Sindh, the examinations of English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology will now be held under the same standard across the province.

The Sindh government has approved a uniform examination syllabus and a table of details for these five basic subjects.

After the implementation of the uniform examination syllabus, a regular and clear examination syllabus has been set for the first time.

According to it, all education boards will set papers within the same examination framework.

The School Education Department has approved the uniform examination syllabus after a detailed review.

A formal no-objection certificate (NOC) has also been issued after the approval of the Uniform Examination Syllabus.

Classes 11 and 12 will be made part of this system in the next phase.

Terming this move a historic development in the examination system, Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah said that instead of the rote system, an examination system based on understanding, application, and critical thinking is being promoted in the province.

He said that the implementation of a modern examination system will help in testing the real learning ability of students, and its positive results will come out.

He further added that, along with examination reforms, intensive work is also underway on student learning outcomes.

Adding more, he said that the field of teacher training has also been expanded to achieve effective results.
