The Islamabad district administration has sealed six petrol pumps and more than 40 fuel dispensing nozzles across the capital for allegedly supplying less petrol and diesel than the quantity paid for by consumers. During inspections, officials also recovered electronic devices allegedly used to manipulate fuel measurements and arrested staff members of two petrol pumps for their involvement in fuel dispensing irregularities.

According to the district administration, inspection teams are conducting checks at petrol stations across Islamabad to ensure that consumers receive the exact quantity of fuel displayed on dispensing machines.

During the crackdown, officials examined fuel dispensing systems and found several nozzles delivering less petrol and diesel than the prescribed quantity. More than 40 such nozzles were sealed, while six petrol stations were closed over various violations.

The inspection teams also seized electronic devices allegedly installed to tamper with fuel measurement systems. These devices were reportedly used to reduce the actual quantity of fuel delivered to customers while displaying a higher reading on dispensing machines. Two petrol pumps were specifically sealed after officials discovered the use of electronic devices to manipulate fuel measurements. Staff members allegedly involved in the practice were also taken into custody.

The action is part of the district administration’s ongoing campaign to protect consumers from fuel station operators involved in short-measuring and other violations. Deputy Commissioner Islamabad has directed the relevant authorities to inspect all petrol pumps across the capital and take strict action against those found supplying less fuel than the quantity paid for. He also instructed inspection teams to ensure comprehensive coverage of petrol stations in all areas of Islamabad to safeguard consumers’ rights and ensure transparency in fuel sales.
