South Air has announced the launch of direct flights between Peshawar and Lahore from November 9, 2026, providing a new travel option for passengers travelling between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.
The new air service will begin on Iqbal Day, with four weekly flights initially planned between the two provincial capitals.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi announced that the direct flight operation would be launched in collaboration with South Air, describing the initiative as an important step towards improving air connectivity between the two cities.
According to the governor, the journey from Peshawar to Lahore will take approximately 50 minutes to one hour, significantly reducing travel time compared with road transport.
The new service is expected to benefit businesspeople, employees, families and other passengers who frequently travel between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab for professional and personal commitments.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said the flight service would particularly facilitate residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa living and working in Lahore, providing them with a faster and more convenient way to travel between the two cities.
He further stated that efforts would be made to increase the number of weekly flights in the future, depending on operational requirements and passenger demand.
Meanwhile, South Air confirmed the new route through an announcement on its social media platforms, highlighting its commitment to strengthening domestic connectivity and bringing communities closer together.
The airline said the initiative aims to make air travel more accessible for passengers whose personal, professional and family responsibilities require regular journeys between Peshawar and Lahore.
While four weekly flights have been announced, the airline has yet to share detailed departure schedules, ticket prices and booking information.
The launch of the new route is expected to provide passengers with an additional domestic travel option while improving connectivity between two major Pakistani cities.
