Sri Lanka Women sealed the three-match T20I series after defeating Pakistan Women in the second match at Dambulla on Sunday.
The hosts produced another impressive all-round performance to register a comfortable victory and take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series, with one game still to play.
Batting first, Pakistan Women posted 175/5 in their allotted 20 overs, setting the hosts a target of 176 runs for victory.
In reply, Sri Lanka Women produced a brilliant batting performance, chasing down the target in the 18th over to win the match comfortably and clinch the series.
It is worth mentioning here that Sri Lanka Women began the three-match T20I series with a commanding six-wicket victory over Pakistan Women in the first T20I, successfully chasing down a target of 177 in 19 overs.
After winning the toss, Sri Lanka elected to bowl first. Pakistan made a strong start as openers Muneeba Ali and Gull Feroza put together a 66-run partnership. Captain Muneeba led the charge with a brisk 42 off 24 balls, including nine fours, before being dismissed.
Pakistan further strengthened their innings through a 61-run stand between Shawaal Zulfiqar and Iman Nasir, taking the score to 127. However, regular wickets in the closing stages prevented the visitors from fully capitalising on the solid platform, as they finished on 176/7 in their allotted 20 overs.
Shawaal Zulfiqar top-scored with 63, while Iman Nasir made 21 and Ayesha Zafar chipped in with 17.
For Sri Lanka, Kavisha Dilhari was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets, while Kavya Kavindi, Sugandika Kumari and Chamudi Praboda claimed one wicket apiece.
In response, Sri Lanka produced an impressive batting display, reaching 177/4 with an over to spare. Opener Imesha Dulani starred with a magnificent unbeaten 101, anchoring the chase with a match-winning century to guide her side to a comfortable victory and a 1-0 lead in the series.
