The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) on Sunday announced that the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams have been postponed and will now be held on April 10, 2026.

The BSEK, in a press release, said that the examination centres are yet to be finalised for the SSC exams in Karachi, and the admission letters have not been issued to the students yet.

The exam material has also not been dispatched properly right now.

BSEK said that it was transferring its system from manual to digital form.

The statement said, “Therefore, the software application was overloaded and faced temporary disruption. The IT team is working to resolve the issue.”

IT further said, “The SSC examinations have been rescheduled to start on April 10, 2026, to ensure they are conducted in an ‘organised and transparent manner.”

The department also announced that the new schedule will be shared very soon with the students waiting for their exams.

The alliance had already warned of the lack of arrangements and facilities at the examination centres.

And that these centres are still not clear whether they are selected for the exams or not, and asked the BSEK to reschedule the exams for their convenience.

On the other hand, BSEK keeps on claiming that the preparations were already made and that admission cards have been issued to those who are private candidates and have been dispatched to their addresses.

The office of the board kept open even on Sunday, to let candidates take their admission cards.
